Kari Ostertag
Based in Naples, Florida, USA
Growing up, Kari was surrounded by art at a very young age and always inspired by mother, Mary Ostertag, who is a well established painter in Saint Louis. She found herself interested in all forms of art, but ceramics took the biggest piece of her heart. Her love for art grew stronger while attending Ladue High, which led her to studying art and graphic design in college.
Kari Ostertag is a graduate from Lindenwood University, with a BFA in Studio Art
Kari also loves to embrace the unpredictability of ceramics, which is especially apparent in the Raku style of firing. Alongside ceramics, she is also a painter. Her painting style is quite the opposite of her ceramics, which is where she enjoys executing a lot of control in her work, and focuses on the photorealistic style.
Kari received Lindenwood University Honors with the Dorothy and Sterling Mollett Art Award for inspiring others. She is also a member of Kappa Pi, International Artist Society.
